Paula Tassara

Paula’s role in the Technical Team at VCMI focuses on leading the development of new additional Claims Tiers to leverage the credible use of carbon credits by companies and organisations to strengthen their ability to make progress in their implementation of Net Zero strategies.

Paula joins VCMI after a decade of international experience working in the supply/origination, climate-tech, multilateral finance, climate policy, and regulatory sides of carbon markets. In previous roles, she has engaged with stakeholders coming from across the public, private and civil society sectors to launch new initiatives in the voluntary and compliance carbon markets, enhance participation around COPs, and also to catalyse the implementation of nature-based solutions, working within organisations such as VCS/Verra, WWF, Chile’s GCF Country Readiness Programme, and the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR).

Paula has a BSc in Geography from the University of Manchester, and an MSc in Carbon Finance from the University of Edinburgh (UK).
