Media advisory – Ambition, Assurance, and Accessibility in the VCMI Claims Code: How corporates can make credible climate claims (embargoed media briefing)

On 28 November 2023, The Voluntary Carbon Market Integrity Initiative (VCMI) will unveil additional guidance for its Claims Code of Practice, enabling companies to make credible claims about their use of high-quality carbon credits.

To celebrate the launch of this additional guidance, VCMI will be hosting a virtual media briefing, ‘Ambition, Assurance, and Accessibility in the VCMI Claims Code: How corporates can make credible climate claims’, which will be taking place at 16:00 GMT on 27 November with all discussed under EMBARGO until 00:01 GMT, 28th November.  You can register here to secure your place.

The event will run through the additional guidance, which includes a Monitoring, Reporting and Assurance (MRA) Framework, the new branding and mark for VCMI Silver, Gold, and Platinum Claims and details on additional Claims. There will also be a presentation on how companies can now make high-integrity claims using the VCMI Claims Code of Practice and significantly contribute towards Paris Agreement goals.

Speakers include VCMI Co-Chair (Rachel Kyte and Tariye Gbadegesin), Executive Director Mark Kenber, and Technical Director for Markets and Standards Ana Carolina Szklo.
