Jimena Solano

Jimena Solano is a Mediator and Program Associate in Meridian’s Washington, D.C. office. She manages and supports projects related to climate change policy, deforestation, and the transition towards sustainable supply chains. These include the New York Declaration on Forests (NYDF) and the Accountability Framework Initiative—projects that allow her to tackle all three challenges as she collaborates with civil society organizations, government, and the private sector to achieve progress on ending deforestation.

Jimena has been dedicated to environmental policy and law throughout her career. Trained as a lawyer, she practiced constitutional, administrative, and environmental law in Mexico City before joining the staff of the Presidency of Mexico. She has worked in the non-profit sector on issues of climate mitigation, water access, and waste management. Before joining Meridian, she worked for the Climate Co-Benefits Team within the Climate Change Group at the World Bank.
