Jan Willem

Jan-Willem is an experienced energy, carbon and sustainability specialist, with a focus on strategy, financial structuring, change management and transactions in the renewable energy, carbon credit and climate change space. He has a background in project development, investment banking, project finance, structured finance and advisory.

Highlights of his career include being responsible for the first versions of the Gold Standard for carbon credits, co-founding, financing and exiting OneCarbon, a carbon credit developer in the 2000s, and managing a team of over 200 sustainability consultants while at Guidehouse, which included key projects like Partnership for Carbon Accounting Financials (PCAF), helping to structure and launch the Future Supplier Initiative (supply chain emission reduction in the fashion industry), and various other innovative sustainability projects.

He is currently a non-executive director at puro.earth (the first carbon crediting programme focused exclusively on removals), Trion (a silicon and battery manufacturing firm) and a director at Emission Reduction Partners Ltd (ERPA.co), an advisory firm in the climate change space.
