By convening government leaders, philanthropists, and corporate visionaries driving the future of the blue and green economy, the summit is designed to unlock sustainable investment opportunities by aligning public, private, and philanthropic capital to accelerate the transition toward a more resilient and prosperous future.

Panama’s Ministry of Environment will be hosting Global Climate Week and, in parallel, the Nature Summit 2025 in partnership with PVBLIC Foundation and Global Resilience Partners.

On May 21, VCMI, the Partnership for Agricultural Carbon (PAC) and Panama’s Ministry of Environment (MiAMBIENTE) will co-host the event Unlocking Carbon Market Opportunities in Latin America for Agriculture and Nature-Based Solutions on the Road to COP30 from 10:25-10:40am.

The session will take place on the main stage of the Nature Summit, bringing together ministers, technical experts, leaders from the agriculture community, investors, and other stakeholders to explore how accelerated carbon finance flows across the region can support the scaling of nature-based solutions and sustainable agriculture systems.

Ana Carolina Szklo, VCMI’s Technical Director of Markets and Standards, will offer insights on international carbon markets, as well as efforts to scale uptake of high integrity carbon markets.

The event will highlight Panama’s vision for carbon markets in the region and, provide a platform for collaboration between governments, technical partners, and private investors ahead of COP30 in Brazil.
