Dr. Rodrigo Pizarro is an economist from the London School of Economics and holds a PhD from Stanford University with over 20 years’ experience working on environmental issues. He was the former Head of the Environmental Economics Division of the Ministry of the Environment of Chile (2014-2018) where he was responsible for the design and implementation of Chile´s carbon tax, the green growth strategy, the sustainable consumption and production program, and the environmental accounts program. He has represented Chile in the Green Growth Group of the Pacific Alliance, IPBES, international board of the 10YFP program, and the CPLC.
Currently he is a consultant for various international organizations and professor at the University of Chile. He is also member of the UN subcommittee on environmental taxation.
