Leticia Guimaraes
Leticia Guimaraes is a senior global technical advisor at UNDP Climate and Forests Programme, based in Panama. In her current role, she supports developing countries from Latin America, Africa, and Asia Pacific on their carbon markets readiness efforts for the forest sector and with the development of diversified financial strategies for the implementation of their climate targets. Leticia is a climate change specialist with 15 years of experience as a policy analyst and project manager in the land use, land-use change and forestry sector. Earlier on in her career, she structured and managed a portfolio of voluntary forest carbon projects and since then has worked on international organizations, private companies, and NGOs to structure performance-based finance mechanisms to incentivize tropical forest conservation in developing countries. Leticia has a MPP in Environmental Policy and Ecological Economics from the University of Maryland in the US and a MSc in Environmental Technology from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in Brazil.
