Kavita is the CEO for Mandai Nature, a conservation non-profit organization based in Singapore and working in Southeast Asia. Mandai Nature aims to advance efforts for nature conservation, with a focus on protecting threatened species from extinction, protecting and restoring ecosystems, driving nature-based solutions to mitigate climate change, and creating benefits for local communities. It delivers impact by supporting local organisations on the ground through funding, development of capacity and skills, and by linking local and global agendas.
Prior to this, Kavita was the Global Conservation Director at WWF responsible for delivering against the WWF conservation goals; developing strategy, partnerships as well as campaigns. Before this position, she led WWF’s global practice on Markets focusing on issues like illegal wildlife trade and conversion-free commodities and established WWF’s Food Practice.
Previously, Kavita was Executive Director of Grow Asia in Singapore (a World Economic Forum initiative); the Global Head, Food Security Agenda at Syngenta International; and Executive Director, SustainAbility in London. She has worked at the World Resources Institute in Washington DC and Glaxo SmithKline in India.
Kavita is a Board Member of the Voluntary Carbon Market Council and a member of Unilever Sustainability Advisory Council. She has been on numerous councils and boards including the Tropical Forest Alliance, Science Based Targets for Nature, World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on Food Security and Nutrition, Volans, SustainAbility Inc., and the Institute for Human Rights and Business.
