Hugh Salway is Head of Environmental Markets at the Gold Standard Foundation, a non-profit organisation and one of the leading independent standards serving the voluntary carbon market. In this role, Hugh is responsible for Gold Standard’s market-related strategy, programmes and partnerships.
Prior to joining Gold Standard, Hugh worked for eight years in the UK Government, which included roles leading the UK’s work on international carbon markets, including negotiations on Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, and advising on European and domestic carbon pricing policies.
Hugh has previously served as co-chair of the World Bank’s Partnership for Market Readiness (PMR) and on the Advisory Group of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition (CPLC). He is based in London, UK.
