Chandra Shekhar Sinha

Chandra Shekhar Sinha is an Adviser in the Climate Change Group of the World Bank. Mr. Sinha’s work focusses on the development of next generation carbon markets through the Climate Warehouse program and the Climate Market Club; leveraging climate finance and carbon markets for low carbon investments; and to maximize synergies of different climate change initiatives of the World Bank. Mr. Sinha has also worked on the intersection of climate change with energy and disaster risk management in the Latina America and the Caribbean and the South Asia regions. He joined the World Bank as a part of the design team for the Prototype Carbon Fund though which carbon finance was established at the World Bank and was the team leader for operations for the Carbon Finance Unit till 2006. Mr. Sinha has also worked at the JP Morgan, TERI, UNDP and at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. Mr Sinha has a Ph.D. and M.Tech. in Energy Studies from IIT, Delhi and master’s degree in Physics from IIT, Kanpur, India.
