Brenda Brito is a lawyer and holds a Master of the Science of Law (JSM’08) and a Doctor of the Science of Law (JSD’17) degrees from Stanford Law School. Born and based in Belém, Northern Brazil, Mrs. Brito has worked since 2003 to improve laws and policies for forest conservation, land tenure management and climate change mitigation in the Brazilian Amazon. She works as an independent consultant and is also an Associate Researcher at Imazon (Amazon Institute of People and the Environment), a Brazilian nongovernmental organization with a mission to promote conservation and sustainable development in the Amazon. She authored and co-authored more than 50 publications and has participated as an expert in governmental committees on land tenure and climate change.
